Nathan Friesen
-Lead Builder (Musketeers)

​My name is Nathan Friesen, and I’m a Grade 12 student at UMEI. I’ve always been interested in mechanics, innovation, and hands-on work, which is why I enjoy being on the Thunderbirds robotics team. My main roles are in building and public relations, where I help construct the robot, communicate with sponsors, and strengthen our team’s community connections.

My name is Meghan Recker, and I’m a Grade 12 student at UMEI Christian High School. I joined the robotics team because I’m passionate about the FIRST program and the opportunities it provides for youth. As Head of Public Relations, I manage sponsor updates, social media, and community outreach, helping our team stay organized and connected while building leadership and communication skills.

My name is Evan Steed, and I’m in Grade 11. I joined the robotics team because I love meeting new people, working as part of a group, and being involved in hands-on creative projects. I’m part of the Public Relations team, where I help with communication, promotion, and outreach to connect our team with the wider community.

I’m most interested in building and design, where I can contribute ideas, develop key components, and improve my understanding of mechanical systems.

Hi, my name is Alex, and I’m a 16-year-old student at UMEI. I joined the robotics team to challenge myself, learn new technical skills, and be part of a team that brings ideas to life in competition. My main focus is on robot construction, where I enjoy problem-solving and hope to expand into design while helping create a strong and reliable robot.

My name is Brayden Wieler, and I’m a Grade 11 student at UMEI. I joined the Thunderbirds because I enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and learning new technical skills as part of a creative team. I’m a builder on the team, helping assemble the robot, explore design concepts, and support my teammates as we work toward creating a strong, reliable machine for competition.

Kevin Riha

My name is Kevin Riha, and I’m a Grade 12 robotics student with a strong interest in automotive mechanics and engineering. I joined the robotics team to develop my technical and electrical skills while gaining experience in design and leadership. I serve as the team’s lead builder and designer, helping guide others through the design process, running our Instagram page, and hoping to be a driver in upcoming competitions.

Keaton Wells

My name is Keaton Wells, and I’m a Grade 11 student who enjoys woodworking, hunting, boating, and tinkering with machines in my workshop. I joined the robotics team to take on a leadership role and further develop my building and problem-solving skills. As team lead, I organize daily operations, lead class briefings, assign tasks, and help ensure everything runs smoothly while guiding the team toward success.

My name is Hunter Cornies, and I’m a Grade 11 student at UMEI Christian High School. I joined Senior Robotics after a great experience in Junior Robotics, where I learned teamwork and problem-solving while enjoying the creative freedom we had. My roles include robot design and public relations, and I hope to become a driver or human player to take a more active part in competitions.

Cameron Douglas

My name is Cameron Douglas, and I’m a Grade 11 student who enjoys reading, building, coding, and learning new things. I joined the robotics team to gain hands-on experience and prepare for a future career in engineering after enjoying my time in FRC. My current focus is coding and design, though I also hope to get involved in finance and public relations while continuing to strengthen my programming skills.

My name is Marcus, and I’m a Grade 12 student who joined UMEI Lightning Robotics because I love hands-on building, problem-solving, and teamwork. I enjoy learning how machines work and being part of a team that creates something from scratch. I’m part of the build group, focusing on design and assembly, and I’m always trying to improve my skills while helping construct a strong and reliable robot.

I joined the robotics team to improve my teamwork and communication skills while representing my school in competitions. I help with building the robot, finding sponsorships, and prototyping designs, and I enjoy problem-solving and contributing to the team’s success.
