About the Lightning Robotics Team
UMEI encourages students to get involved and be apart of a team. Lightning Robotics is a team where students can do just that. Students from any grade can participate, and contribute their ideas to the team there is something for everyone. This is UMEI's second year competing in the FIRST Robotics competition and we are so excited to see what we can create together.
Why are we Unique?
Community
UMEI students grow to be close friends and create close relationships. Students work well together and strive to help wherever needed in our community. Our second-year team is built on dedicated and hardworking teamwork. eam #8081 is a small, well-connected group. Regardless of whether one is a robotics builder, programmer, or fundraiser, each role is considered a vital link to the end result.
Passion
Our team members all have individual strengths. Each person’s contributions make the team better. Our builders and programmers have all taken at least one year of robotics and are all passionate for the science and building aspects of this program. Those tackling finance and public relations have all taken business and communications technology classes and all are eager to contribute. What makes our team standout is that every member is dedicated, not just to the competition but to learning.
