UMEI motivates students to get involved and join a team, and Lightning Robotics offers a perfect opportunity for that. Open to students from all grades, this team values everyone's ideas, ensuring there's a role for everyone. As we enter our third year competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition, we’re excited to see what we can achieve together!

Community
At UMEI, students build lasting friendships and form strong bonds. They work well together, always ready to help where needed in our community. Now in our third year, our team (#8081) is grounded in dedication and hard work. This close-knit group values every role, from builders and programmers to fundraisers, recognizing each as an essential part of achieving our goals.
Passion
Our team members all have individual strengths. Each person’s contributions make the team better. Our builders and programmers have all taken at least one year of robotics and are all passionate for the science and building aspects of this program. Those tackling finance and public relations have all taken business and communications technology classes and all are eager to contribute. What makes our team standout is that every member is dedicated, not just to the competition but to learning.
